Jane and I have teamed up once again on another review. Go check it out at Behind the Chintz Curtain. I think it is safe to say we both really enjoyed this one.
On Becoming His
Jessie ... I mean, Jezebel ... I mean, Jessie is entering a BDSM and Domestic Discipline relationship with her boyfriend, Luke, who is 10 years older than her (she is a 45 year old executive) and a somewhat experienced Dom. Essentially we are in her head through out the beginning stages of the relationship.Honestly I hope he knows what he is getting into. Jessie is extremely needy and I do mean extreme. She also had a tendency to Top from Below. He was enthusiastic but she was something else.On the one hand, I found the mixing of the styles interesting because I thought it was the kind of thing people could do in real life. I just thought it got kind of muddled. The whole issue of having a third person in their relationship only confused me that much more.It was an interesting read and I already have the sequel ready to go (it was available for free so I picked this one up first) but I really wish an editor had spent some more time with the book and work on the punctuation errors.Not really my thing but I could see someone enjoying this if this is their particular fantasy.

The Vampire Queen's Servant (Vampire Queen Series #1)

I thoroughly enjoyed it but there were a lot of things I didn't understand about the Vampire/Servant Relationship. I don't feel so bad now because I don't think Lyssa understands it completely and she is over a 1,000 years old.Jacob was born to be Lyssa's servant. Really. He had almost been twice before and the third time was the charm.What they had to figure out was how this big dominant alpha male could serve her. It wasn't easy for him. It wasn't easy for her. It especially wasn't easy for either of them when there were other vampires around.I have to say something about the writing, though. It is so good it just sort of sucks you right into the story.

In all the other things I have written by Sierra Cartwright, the submissive was either initiating things or experienced enough to handle what was being thrown at her. Marcus is really lucky that she didn’t haul off and slap him in the first 30 seconds.In the end, I still wasn’t quite convinced they were the match they both needed. Honestly, on the Dom scale, I thought he was a bit more than she seemed to be ready for at the very least.Oh, and the answer is the second one. Of all the conversations between Gorean Masters and their newly arrived Slaves Girls from Earth, I always thought that particular Norman work had some of the more intriguing. And the whole conversation between Marcus and Julia made me think of that.

I didn't quite understand why this one was so controversial.Leaving aside the ending, I just didn't connect with it. The first sex scene was fine. But the rest of it - and there was a lot - just got really repetitive.I am actually surprised I didn't see the ending coming. It was pretty obvious when you thought about it. I certainly wasn't shocked.I won't recommend this one to anyone and now that I understand that this is the first book in a trilogy I don't ever intend to getting around to finishing it.

I went into this one not expecting to like it as much as the first two. If they were going to make it work, they had to do it on their own.This is the first time we see what happens when a Vampire pushes her Servant too far. Not very pretty. Fortunately, things works out in the end.

And Jacob has to go through some things that would test the resolve of any one who wanted to be a dedicated servant - or at least most any confidently heterosexual man.Fortunately, though, for Jacob, the ending may mean that he doesn't have to go quite through such an experience again.

Otherwise we wouldn't have a story, silly.Nothing especially ground breaking in this one, but a nice love story with lots of fun spanking scenes.
Laura Meets Jeffrey
Sex. Drugs. Rock & Roll.Okay, maybe not so much on the latter although there is a cameo by one of the Fab Four and an appearance by some guys from E Street.In fact, there is actually more Literature since this includes one of the Greatest Writers of the 20th Century.But definitely lots of Sex and Drugs.I am giving this a 5 based on the fact that this is a true story and our two protagonists actually survived.Quick note about the BDSM aspects: There are a lot of expected protocols in modern stories. You won’t find any of them here. Don’t try this at home. In fact, don’t try any of this. Just read it and leave it at that.

And Anders didn’t want someone to love and cherish, he just wanted someone who wouldn’t ever say no.In the end, instead of a relationship, I thought they would be better off with a whole lot of therapy.
